On  Saturday, June 13 . 10AM-2PM , Citizens Alliance on Prisons and Public Spending (CAPPS) will be  hosting a community meeting at the Uof M Detroit Center located at 3663 Woodard Ave, in Detroit . This event is designed to inform concerned citizens about Michigan’s political landscape surrounding corrections reform, as well as provide tangible assistance to those who have loved ones incarcerated. In addition to a presentation by CAPPS Executive Director, Laura Sager,  there will be a parole process and appeals process workshop by the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) and the State Appellate Defender’s Office (SADO).  Partial list cosponsoring organizations includes, American Friends Service Committee, Michigan Council on Crime & Delinquency, The SE Michigan Synod of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America , Stephanie Chang and the American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA).  To participate and for more information contact capps@capps-mi.org or visit the www.Caaps-mi.org.
