On July 19th, 2016, at a formal meeting of the Detroit City Council held in the community in Detroit’s District 7 at New Providence Baptist Church, Councilman Gabe Leland recognized a variety of community members, organizations and groups for their efforts serving humanity in different capacities.
Among the awardees, was Mr. Imad Hamad, AHRC Executive Director who received the Spirit of Detroit Award recognizing the AHRC-USA efforts with the District 7 Flint Water Drive Coalition initiated by New Covenant Church International on Detroit’s westside during the Flint water crisis.
AHRC-USA congratulates all fellow citizens and organizations, partners in humanity who were recognized. AHRC-USA expresses its gratitude to Councilman Gabe Leland & the entire Detroit City Council for such a badge of honor.
During the Flint water crisis the American Human Rights Council (AHRC-USA) joined fellow citizens to lend a helping hand and donate bottled water to the residents of the City of Flint.
